• Saturday’s game will be televised live in Waco, Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi, and will
be tape delayed in Dallas on Time Warner Cable’s Metro Sports Channel. The game is first of
nine televised games for the Mustangs in 2009.
• SMU will honor the 1989 football squad at halftime of the season opener. The ‘89 squad reestablished
SMU football following a two-year hiatus, and the team’s fi rst victory, a last-second
31-30 win over UConn, was quickly dubbed the “Miracle on Mockingbird”.

I, for one, will stand and cheer that courageous group of guys from the 1989 team. They made up the toughest team I have ever seen, and I'll forever be grateful for what they went through.

Glad the home games are on TV, but I wish to hell the roadies would be on the tube more than the home games. People should sit on their couch when they can't make a road game, and I not too many folks stay home from Ford Stadium.

Who would have thought that the 1989 team would have won more games than the 2007 or 2008 teams did? Hopefully this 20 year reunion will truly usher in a new era of Mustang football!!

Alex, Where can I find what stations will be carrying the games around the state? I will be at Ford, but friends and relatives have been asking me and I can't find anything on the official site.

The games will be aired on Metro Sports, which is available to Time Warner Cable subscribers in Dallas, Waco, Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi. This is similar to how the men's basketball games were aired last season.

Check GamePlan on Directv at noon on Friday. They selectively pickup local game broadcasts from cable cos. Comcast, Time Warner, etc. and sell them PPV. So...Maybe...

DALLAS (SMU) - All six 2009 Mustang home football games will be televised by Metro Sports, SMU announced today. The games will be available to Time Warner Cable subscribers in Dallas, Waco, Temple, Killeen, Round Rock, Austin, San Antonio, Kerrville and Corpus Christi.

The games will air live on TWC's Texas Channel in Waco, Temple, Killeen, Round Rock, Austin, San Antonio, Kerrville and Corpus Christi. In Dallas, the games will be tape delayed until 8 p.m. on Mondays on Metro Sports Channel 185. Games will also be available on Metro Sports Video-On-Demand on Channel 634.

"We are thrilled to be able to reach our fans in these Texas markets," said SMU Director of Athletics Steve Orsini. "This `Mustang Network' will provide us great exposure throughout the state. We're happy that our fans in other markets will be able to follow and cheer on our program."

These six games are in addition to the two that have already been slated for national television broadcasts. The annual State Farm DFW Duel - Battle for the Iron Skillet game against TCU will be televised on The Mtn. with a 7 p.m. kickoff on Oct. 3, and the Mustangs' game with C-USA Western Division rival Houston will be aired on CBS College Sports on Oct. 24, starting at 6:30 p.m.

All SMU football games are also available on the Mustang Radio Network, which includes the flagship KTCK 1310 AM in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and through Mustang All-Access at SMUMustangs.com.

For ticket information call 214-SMU-GAME.

So for those of us living in, say, Virginia, there will be a chance that we can watch the game at a sports bar? Feel dumb asking this but I find this all pretty confusing.
