Saddest part to me is that the public/student/alumni opinion doesn't really mean anything in this case. June wants big horseys, so June's gonna get big horseys, period. Nobody has the guts to just tell him no. Not only is Peruna "not going anywhere," neither are the geldings going anywhere. this will be an embarrassment for years to come. Get ready for lots of nifty rope tricks!

I am actually pretty pleased that enough of us little people could make some ripples in the water. I'd bet a couple of big people did as well, but for now, I feel like we accomplished something. All we have to do is hold out three more years then I guess June really wouldn't mind which mascot we had.

At the Navy game, they had a trailor, two riders and a number of handlers, for a total of 5 support people, all of which who looked like they knew what they were doing around horses.
From a marketing standpoint, the only thing that makes any horse sence with this level of effort is that they will trailor the horses to all the games, so the television announcers can highlight the horses and the issues surrounding Madelines Mustangs. The Conference USA schedule with EL Paso, Houston, Tulsa, etc. lends itself to this type of strategy well. When the Televsison cameras are on at the away games, these horses will be shown. Why else spend the money? If the band and Peruna can make it, so much the better.
Does anyone know if they are going up to the Tulsa game? It will be on Ch33.
Also, my son was at the Senate meeting. Hey, Orsini, aren't you glad the Senate Ok'd the taping of the meeting?

It is being painted yellow and orange and re-named Cesar Chavez Hall.

I don't believe Peruna travels to away games.

The band does not have the money in the budget to go to Tulsa (and much less Huntington, VA). Peruna has not travelled to away games in years. Most schools do not allow the visiting teams' live mascots in the stadium, so I don't think that the geldings would be welcomed.

Kudos to Dave the Announcer Guy...
Featuring Peruna on his post touchdown run was fantastic!

It was pure greatness! JJ will certainly try to get that stopped before the Tulane game.
Peruna is my mascot!
