I sort of have this feeling, and I'm trying not to appear too insane, but the benevolent TV overlords would probably prefer SMU to USM or Tulsa. I just have this feeling that ESPN finds us, and Jones, an(relatively) attractive commodity in all of this. I don't see us shoved out in to the snow in favor of Tulsa or Hattiesburg.

recent history of success in both football and bball and better fan support...to name a few reasons.

SMU fans are excited, but we have to remember that last year was only our 2nd winning season since the death penalty and 1st bowl game...so we still have a long ways to go to prove we belong. Oh...and did I mention our hoops program and attendance figures in both sports?

we REALLY need to see continued improvement in both football and bball and hope it will bring out some of our long alienated fans
