Jim Christian's status at TCUHorned Frogs are having another tough season in Fort Worth. Last in the MWC at 1-8. I don't know what that means for his future over there coupled with the impending move to the Big East.
This is his third year? I would think that TCU would exercise a little more patience, but I've never had the sense that's this has been a good fit. Regarding the move to the Big East, I remember how South Florida was talking it up about moving to it and how it was going to make their BB better. I think we've learned that there's a pecking order of teams to go play basketball for in that conference. USF isn't one of them. I can pretty much see where TCU will fall into USF's status.
Re: Jim Christian's status at TCUWhy should I care?

Re: Jim Christian's status at TCU
Bill, I'm troubled by the fact that you would take this position. You always want to keep an eye on your rival. We talked them for threads on end with football. Basketball is hands off because they're struggling? We may or may not be competing against them for the same kinds of recruits. Help me understand... I think it's an interesting point because he had a good career at Kent St., came here with high expectations and it's kind of not been working out. Based on your response, I would presume you prefer the ostrich approach.
Re: Jim Christian's status at TCUI never thought he was a great hire, but I didn't expect him to bomb like this. Can't believe we lost to them. If we played them now, we' d run them off the court.
Re: Jim Christian's status at TCUThey just didn't prioritize hoops in the way they could have. Christian coached them up at Kent, but he was never regarded as a premier recruiter. They are relying on JUCO kids, and nationally they're seen more as a supplement, not the main course. Beyond that, evaluation has to be a concern, as they offered Darius Singleton several years ago in the '11 class, and it was a real stretch. Darius ended up at Central Arkansas.
Beyond that, I'm not really paying attention. I hope they burn “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: Jim Christian's status at TCUgood to see them struggling, but the MWC is pretty tough 8 team league right now. BYU, SDSU, UNLV, New Mexico. Utah is the weak sister. How many wins would we have in that league? Not 5. Christian beat USC this year and Texas Tech at Lubbock, besides walloping us. Orsini probably would have given Doh a lifetime contract for doing that.
Re: Jim Christian's status at TCU
Tech sucks, as does USC. Both were very early, and we've now beaten teams that good, if not considerably better. UNT beat freakin Tech, and they are punking out in a big way right now. MWC is a good hoops conference, and pretty much always has been(despite not getting the respect it should), but there is nothing in it beyond BYU/SDSU/UNLV. Colorado St is 6-3 which is roughly like us being 5-3 in CUSA, and UNM isn't what they were last year at all. “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: Jim Christian's status at TCU
True, TCU will recruit better in the Big East because of that conference's reputation but they'll never be able to keep up with the absolutely brutal competition. They'll be a perennial bottom 4 team. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Jim Christian's status at TCUGood job big east.
Re: Jim Christian's status at TCUdepaul will finally win a BE game...and win by 30

Re: Jim Christian's status at TCUTCU will join South Florida near the bottom of the BE in basketball.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Jim Christian's status at TCUI can't believe how far our team has come since we went to fort worth and got ridden a red-headed stepchild's slutty little sister. I have not seen them play since but I'd like to think we would beat them fairly handily right now.
Mustangs Abu!
Re: Jim Christian's status at TCUI get a steady diet of Big East basketball virtually every night of the week. This is a very tough and well balanced league. Even the teams at the bottom of the conference standings are very talented and can beat any other team in the conference on a given night. TCU falls woefully short of even being comptitive in this league. TCU will need a huge influx in talent to get beyond the door mat status in basketball. My personal opinion is that TCU made a huge mistake in joining the BE. It may work out in football; however, a disaster for all other sports where there is no commonality of geography, rivalries and to a lesser extent the participation/availability of minor sports other than baseball where the BE is traditionally strong.
Re: Jim Christian's status at TCULosing both Yeager & Moss was huge. Not too many teams in the country could lose their best two players & still be able to compete on a high level. It would be like SMU losing both Dia & RN.
