Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historyHey jamhead stop typing and get back to work at the barber shop
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historyI think we have the makings of a pretty-fair rivalry. LOL!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historyI've always felt that SMU/TCU/UNT could have a great little Metroplex rivalry and should all be playing each other every year...preferably as conference mates. We could play for the Metroplex Mayors Trophy
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historyI definitely think that hiring dodge put nt back a lot. congrats on your stadium but I don't have any reason to care about your team--I'm a MUSTANG gal.
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historyI don't understand why some may dislike NT or feel the need to put NT down either. I assume it something personal with them. As far as I am concern NT is irrelevant to SMU. There is nothing about NT that SMU should be concerned with. We have never really been competitors so I really wish you any ill will.
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historywe have UNT on future schedules and our games with them have always been pretty well attended. We should be playing them and TCU every year. We compete at the same level and are less than an hour drive. No brainer as far as I am concerned
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent history
This is how I feel as well. So naturally I don't like when their fans try to claim that they are something we should be concerned about.
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historyDon't waste your time replying to this loser. He answered his own question didnt he?
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historythe first, most relevant, difference between smu and ntsu that stands out to me is that we actually win our opening game in the new stadium.
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historyHey jarhead- enjoy that game last night? cougar high gave you a real ' case' of it- no?
![]() GO PONIES!!!
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent historyI don't notice any hatred?.....we just don't really care about NTSU. Apathy is the correct word. Where did this thread come from anyway?.....drug induced?
I do think it deserves an annual game though. It would fill up the stadiums when played and is better than us playing games like Northwestern State ( I know it was a last minute replacement for Baylor).
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent history
well, it's not like we had a lot of options after Baylor dropped the game at the last minute. i'm glad they filled it in with what should be a sure W. Derail the Frogs!
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent history
i think i just saw NSU in the post you replied to and thought that's what you were referring to. my bad. but you are correct about not having anything to gain by playing UNT. although it would be a good old-fashioned beatdown. Derail the Frogs!
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent history
Hey Jarhead, Thank You for your service to this country. If you look at some of our opponents over the past several years in FB and especially BB, I too do not understand why we don't schedule NTSU more often. We are playing Northwestern St this week and the consensus appears to be we will have 15,000 fans. I have got to believe that if we were playing NTSU, we could draw closer to 23,000. btw, I think I attended the last SMU / NTSU game at Moody. Was that back in 2003? Think of all the meaningless NC games we have scheduled since then.
Re: Don't understand the hatred, considering recent history
You are probably right about playing them more often. In the past these games have sold a lot of tickets, something we badly need to do.
