You mean you didn't like the old TCU games in the Cotton Bowl where they had to put us on the same side so ESPN could actually get a crowd shot? 14,000 fans in a 90,000 seat stadium....the good old days.

Yep. BYU has made a big time showing the last couple of times they've played at Cowboys stadium. I remember a few years back, I was in Dallas for an SMU game when BYU was playing OU (I think) at Jerryworld and there were people everywhere around town in Blue "Y" shirts. Kinda weird, really.

I went to the Southern Mississippi game at "The Rock" with a stated capacity of 36,000. The crowd was announced at just under 33,000 but the stadium looked full to me. The atmoshere was great - point is, we should fill Ford, create the big time college football atmosphere, then worry about box seats and stadium expansion. We have some work to do.

"I hope we never fill the bowl in"

I agree. Keep the horseshoe feel and add seats elsewhere.

Fill Ford first then worry about expansion - the end zone shots are embarrassing.

yeah we really don't need any more endzone seats. Now if the time came and we could add say 6-8,000 in a west side upper deck. Then you would have 40,000 and still have the end zone hill and SRO to get you to 45,000 SRO Capacity which I think we could fill for some local schools. Plus the Kids would be happy

True, also let's get the IPF built soon.

those Cotton Bowl games were great when it rained...and everyone could find a seat up under the upper decks to stay dry. I seem to recall a particularly miserable game (might have been homecoming?) against Rice

Agree 100%. It's easier to sell sideline seats.

I think I was at that game. The rainy Rice game that I remember was either in 1975 or 1976. I think there was all of 5,000 fans there because we were on probation thanks to Smith getting caught handing out money to recruits, which really hurt our attendance. Roy Bailey and his date were drunk as skunks jumping all over the place. I think that was the year before he became the head cheerleader. I remember having a great time!
