the miserable Rice game I remember was in our WAC days...about 50 degrees and rained the entire day. McCown had a good game as did Luke Johnson and the Ponies won going away. Comet Cunningham may have returned a kickoff or punt that day...can't remember details of the game...but I do remember being thankful to be up under the deck in that 50 degree rain

I was probably at that game too as I have not missed many home games over the last 35 years.

Keep it a horseshoe, endzone seats are horrible seats in general.

Boise travels well. They brought 10,000 to Atlanta for the season opener this year against Georgia. They were really nice people too. I'm really cheering for Boise to get into the National Championship game this year.

Well root for osu to lose to ou and stanford to lose to oregon. bcs analyst said that boise can only get in if most top teams had 2 losses.

was there as a student. A Rice fan got mad at us because we were sitting in her seat. There were literally tens of thousands of empty seats around us. Why did she want to sit next to the students anyway? We gave her a really hard time, and she never moved. Sat alone, the only person in her section, in the rain the entire game.
So does this mean an expanded stadium?
If we continue to improve it will happen (and I believe we will), so prepare to get your check books out the letter will soon be drafted. I hope they do it in stages - because a full stadium looks better to recruits and television fat cats.

The fact she went to Rice explains a lot. Weird, anti-social, alone, makes bizarre decisions in public...yep, classic case of Ricitis.

Most AD's now agree, smaller is better--can't sell season tickets if everyone knows you can get a 30 yard line ticket simply by walking up on game day.

boise will never get into the nc game as a non aq team. the bcs proved last year that they will do anything to prevent that from happening.

I actually don't think they care. At least the bowls don't. Boise travels well and people tune in to watch them. That's all the bowls care about.
But the analysis is correct, the computers will ding them too much for the schedule. They would have to be #1 in both human polls to avoid it. Otherwise everyone else would have to have at least 2 losses--and not be LSU, Alabama, or Florida.
LSU won the NC with 2 losses the year that Hawaii went to the Sugar Bowl.

Take a look at that 2007 Hawaii football schedule......2 of the wins were over FCS teams - Northern Colorado and Charleston Southern. LSU was much more deserving of being in the NC game. Hawaii looked pretty overrated in the Sugar Bowl.

Georgia killed them. Hawaii never should have been in the Sugar, way over-rated.

Guys the Big East ain't what it was with Miami, Virginia Tech,BC, Pitt and Syracuse......IMO it'll be equal to the MAC in conference power schedule. INDY would be better for SMU, Houston or Boise. Ya'll do have superconference realigment available and THAT is what I would take as a simple grease monkey for the Navy.... You aren't a force, just make yourself one.
Whatcha really need is massive ticket demand and make Ford Stadium Out of the Question for the board of directors so you HAVE to play at the Cotton Bowl. Honestly UM fills a 100k plus stadium every week, how many do you think attended a single classroom session in Ann Arbor??????
As always, Go Ponies! (Till you play Michigan)
