Anyone going to the NIT games at Stanford?

Postby SMUfiji43 » Fri Nov 11, 2011 12:50 am

I know most of you live in Texas, but is anyone else planning on going to the NIT games next week at Stanford? I live a few minutes off campus and am planning on going to the Tuesday night game, and maybe the Monday night one if anyone wants to grab a cold one or several.

Is tip-off at 5pm (PST)? We are planning to get there but need to know...coming from East Bay.

We have a group of 5 going including GiddyUp and RGV Pony. We have tickets to both games. I do not know what time the first game starts. Originally I heard 5 and later 7. Will need to find out for sure.

Where did you get your tickets ? I went to the Stanford ticket site and they never came up. This where the Mustang club could have organized something for Bay Area members.

There are a couple options. In downtown Palo Alto the best place would be the Old Pro. Big sports bar with a ton of TV's and good food.

There is also Nola which is right next door and has kind of a New Orleans vibe to it. Not really a sports bar, but a fun spot with good drinks/food.

Rudy's is kind of a dive bar, but is another good option. I've never eaten there, so I can't speak to the quality of the food.

All of those places are off of University Ave.

In Menlo Park there are 2 places that might be worth checking out, but are just a little bit further away. One is called The Oasis and the other is called the Dutch Goose. Both are good burger/beer joints. The Dutch Goose also has a full bar if you're not in the mood for beer. I live about 2 min away from there and go at least once a week.
