Only kidding....but seriously man, I have to side with bongo on this one...the stars argument is over rated.

Thanks Mr. Sanders! Better recruits help but we played a service academy and lost. The coaches, especially SMU, are supposed to find diamonds in the rough and mold great players. JJ hasn't done that yet. GET IT DONE OR GET OUT!
Chang and Brennan? Who the hell did they play against? JJ did develop those guys but he's gotten lazy since then, that was almost 5 years ago. 5 years bro

Let me get your argument straight! June has developed excellent QBs in the past, but has not accomplished that at SMU because he is lazy? It's official Ponyfans has been invaded with 5 Star idiots!

Again....those arent my arguments...those are bongos....You need to learn to read you 8 star Idiot you...

In all seriousness....SMU1523

I do think June developed a QB...but for whatever reason he benched him. Argue with me all you want, KP is clearly better and we're starting to see that. KP got us to a conference championship...wont be the case this year. JJ wont come close to KP's passing numbers either.

Is KP on Brennan or Chang's level as far as running the system? NOPE! I will be the first to admit that....but the numbers you are looking at for those two in comparrison to KP are their senior years, VS KP sophomore year...

I do not know either Stat line for Brennan or Chang during their Sophomore year...and if it's better than KP's, much obliged, they are better than KP then...

My argument to you sir was that, simply looking at rivals.com and looking at their Rankings is over rated. Take it for what it's worth, the name calling was not called for young sir!

Me and Sanders on the same page. I will say that Sanders might speak more eliquent then me but he's right about the development of a QB at SMU. Not he same level as Chang or Brennan but KP was pretty dirty last year. What happened?[/quote]

The coach benched him for a kid who has thrown 14 Td's and 14 INT's

And that my friends....is where I do have a problem with June and his development of a QB. He benched a kid in which he threw two interceptions, against a team we were never supposed to beat. WHY? ....that is what I want to know?

Yes KP made a bone head pass the one he over threw, and the first one was tipped but probably forced, trying to make too much happen...but to lose your job for the season after that? Somethings up...

But I am not getting into all of that. I was simply stating, RIVALS.com is a joke, and has no relevance into a players ability at the collegiate level. You're gunna tell me that those "know-it-alls" at Rivals, can tell me how good a kid can be age 22 and 23? Not a chance, they look at 17-18 year olds. Those kids grow into men at the collegiate level, their bodies change in maturation...that is why I do not believe those ranking systems work. Yes, they help college recruiters, but if you ask those recruiters, they dont base their opinon off of what Rivals says.

I've been a June defender and I think he still deserves a lot of credit for what he has acomplished here considering where we were just 5 years ago. With that said I have been extremely disappointed with this team they just look like they don't care and make so many stupid mistakes. Motivation and mental toughness is all coaching and I haven't seen any thing from the coaches for 4 weeks now which is completely unacceptable. June is fine for this year and next but if we do not take another step foward (8-10 wins) it's time for a change. I'd like Rich Rod, offensive minded and proved he could win the BE.

Dude June is fine, I question some of thing he does like,

If its true that Kaiser was a bust, he cant be a bust comapre to my favorite nickname i heard McDermott. I mean seriously fans could do better cause most of them could run. June just needs to get over his ego I think. I kinda wish coach's salaries are dependent on their win percentages, because I think he would be less stubborn if he knew it was only a million rather than 2. I think the future recruits wont be busts. Im look forward to 2012 season (Osama out of office, then having KP as QB in his rightful place) then 2013 Gilbert out to prove he can compete: he has less interceptions than McDermott and he played tougher teams. 2014 hopefully neal or printz. I mean we also picked up a great RB, have zachs brother. I mean thats just a handful I selected. I think next season will be great, and we should be able to win the championship, because easier conference schedule and houston is going to a less experienced QB, and tulsa will go into it cyclical performance.

Please forgive me of the name calling... The ignorance behind some of these posts baffle me... When people are calling for June to be fired because we haven't won more than 8 games in a season is ignorant! Be patient... TCU was not a 4-year success and we were in a much worse place then they were when we decided to commit to football (the hiring of June Jones).

You are fueling the fire to his comments. Its a losing battle as Im sure you know. Even us, and everyone (including Banjo) on here for the most part I believe do not have the answers to Jone's problem. That being said, give him plenty of time to sort it out. I mean our recruiting class rank is amazing, we have a winning season, what more can we want. All I can think of is lobbying for a better marketing department and QB to replace for rest of the season. We are having one season that was promising that turned to crap. There is next year for us to have a promising season that can continue to an amazing season.

I agree with Pony_Law. Replacing June will not be a firing but a natural progression of our program ... he's said it himself that he'd like to stay on until he felt the program was back on the right path ... it's starting ... another couple of years and we'll be there and I'm sure he'll be happy to move on and be proud of what he's accomplished as should we ... this has been the plan all along in my view ... maybe we should start a thread: "Who Replaces Jones When He Steps Down in 2-3 Years?" ...

I can completely agree with this too. I never saw June as a 10 year HC at SMU.

SMU1523

No Worries I will forgive you "idiot" :D

But like I have said, I am not calling for anyones firing, I was simply saying that the rankings of these 17-18 year olds doesnt matter. They grow into men by the time they are 21-23 at the collegiate level in my opinion. And there is no way for anyone to say, this kid wont grow 5 inches and gain 50 pounds of muscle and run a 4.4....thats just why i dont like focusing on the stars of the recruits. It is our coaches job however to mold the players, and this is where I disagree with June's decision....I am one of the few that didn't want KP to be benched.

Never said June should be fired for that....Just dont agree with his switching from KP to McD...WHY??

1) KP took us to two bowl games and a conference championship
2) McD not mobile
3) KP more accuarate
4) KP more big play ability
5) Leadership KP brings to the huddle

There is one thing McD does better...and that is go to his checkdowns, noticed that right from the start. He goes through his progressions. KP figures that out, we all will not be having this discussion anymore.

I am pretty pleased we had a sophomore finish in the top 25 passing efficiency...Yes we didnt win the conference championship, and yes we lost a terrible bowl game that we coulda...shoulda...woul....well you get the point...won...but we didnt. This season is NOT all McD's fault, like last season was not all KP's fault....but at least we were playing for a conference championship then...

I dont mind debating this with anyone, it is simply my opinion and others are entitled to disagree with it...I am just an "idiot" after all :D

June did pick the QB and does sticks with him persistently. And the defense did their part today. June's offense stunk it up.
