I am an M.D., and have a Master's in Public Health from Johns Hopkins. I stand by my spelling, and don't need google to do so. Possessives are generally used when a disease is named for the physician who described it. Do you say "He has Alzheimer Disease?" It is Alzheimer's Disease. It is a Ewing's Sarcoma, not a Ewing Sarcoma. Asperger's Syndrome. Sjogren's Syndrome. I can go on if you need more.

Bully for you. The proper spelling in this country is still Down syndrome. Hope you're a better doctor than writer.
"Well in America, we spell it without the 's'!" How does that make sense if it is named after a disease a physician who discovered it? Of course it needs to be possessive. And are you really arguing with a doctor on the proper spelling of a disease? *Shakes head in sadness*
