They did play like crap against Tulane, especially in the second half. That game was terrible, and it was boring as all hell. Go visit a dentist's office today. Come back and try and argue that there wasn't more energy and excitement in that dentist's office than there was at the Tulane game.
Having to sit through that Homecoming game, a couple things came into focus:
If the atmosphere is that terrible, serving booze aint going to do a thing. Even if I could have been drinking at the game, I'd rather have been drinking somewhere else. It was that bad.
If a casual college football fan or local Dallasite came to that game for their first experience, and never wanted to come back, I'm not sure I could blame them.
Is it cool to play that badly and win by 21? Is it good to beat the teams your supposed to? Yeah, I guess it is. But still, Tulane is quite awful. And that was a painful college football viewing experience.

No kidding, I mean it just felt dead inside. I mean I was like yeah lets btho Tulane. Also my girlfriend's family came to town (normally they go to bevo games) and I was kind of embarrassed and told them that people were out of town. That the marketing department never broadcasted the game, etc. They wanted to leave at half time especially seeing 31-0 on the board. However, I convinced them that our team is a little A&M team, we only play well in the first half. Then behold our team gives up 24 points to one of the worst teams in FBS.... At least the navy game, we all agree to have fun in the student section, most the time it was us either going wow when can McDermott leave and desiring to go down and beating the billy goat mascot for giving us the finger.

Fear not, J.J., the Lord is with you. Best of luck this weekend against Houston!
Psalm 64
1Listen to my concerns, God,
and protect me
   from my terrible enemies.
2Keep me safe from secret plots
   of corrupt and evil gangs.
3Their words cut like swords,
   and their cruel remarks
   sting like sharp arrows.
4They fearlessly ambush
   and shoot innocent people.
5They are determined to do evil,
   and they tell themselves,
   "Let's set traps!
   No one can see us."
6They make evil plans and say,
   "We'll commit a perfect crime.
   No one knows our thoughts."
7But God will shoot his arrows
   and quickly wound them.
8They will be destroyed
   by their own words,
   and everyone who sees them
   will tremble with fear.
9They will be afraid and say,
"Look at what God has done
and keep it all in mind."
10May the LORD bless his people
   with peace and happiness
   and let them celebrate.

So what happens if the enemy is praying the same thing?

The opposing team is not the enemy that I had in mind. They are just the competition, not enemies.
