Navy and Tulsa were big let downs. TCU positive surprise. Offense the last 5 games makes you want to pull your hair out. So all in all i would say ok, but lost opportunity to make a mark - and our schedule gets tougher so i could be an important miss.

Have to keep upgrading talent. would also be nice if we could do some things other can do like hurry up offense...so June's stubborness is starting to wear thin.

I was thinking 7-5, or 8 maybe 9 wins if we were lucky. TCU game raised expectations, look forward to the bowl game and an 8 win season

at this point, you have to consider it a good year because this team beat TCU and will finish with a winning record...despite limping home without it's star RB and having played all year with very erratic QB play

we went 7-5 and our QB play was absolutely horrendous for at least half the season. I think most are disappointed with our final record given how hot we started, but given the circumstances, I'm happy that we finish the year with a winning record with the QB we had.

Defense also took a huge leap forward.

Next year should be great.

This reminds me of the saying "it's not where you start but how you finish" and SMU finished their season looking more like a high school team than a Division I football program - they are better than that. Will someone please find the football team that beat TCU and bring them back for the bowl game? Apparently they were left in Ft. Worth and couldn't find their way back to Dallas. It would have also been nice this year to have seen an experienced, healthy Kyle Padron but the QB situation proved to be a carry-over from the end of last year's season. At a minimum, can they please recruit a new kicker? The Rice game was horrible to watch.

Hopefully we can beat more teams that have a winning record next year. Not sure about the 1-AA team we beat(they might have had a winning record), but the combined record of our opponents that we beat besides TCU was 18-42.

winning a bowl game to finish 8-5 would cement this as a good year

Winning one of USM, Tulsa, Houston, and competing in the other two, and beating Navy, would've been a "good" year in Year Four. 9-3.

I felt as if the team underachieved massively.

Even the season opener against A&M felt as winnable and i think 9 times of 10 it would be a close game. We would usually lose ofc, but it be close. Anyways I think people are more disappointed not about the 7-5, but for team not fulfilling its potential or what we thought was its potential.

I think in hindsight June knows he went wrong with the qb call. Okey he gave KP his mind game lesson showing starting spot is no way guaranteed etc, but then i think he couldn't drop McD no more cause team kept on winning. And finally when offense collapsed completely, he no longer could cause KP was injured. But it was the defense that won us all our better wins. Or in case of UCF special teams. And for offense it was all Zach whenever something did work.

But even with that we were good enough as any top team in CUSA, it was in the 4th quater USM game that team finally collapsed mentally and that seemed like a turning point for whole season. But remember it was their homecoming game, a close road game against a good team. Then week later Tulsa finished off the job, again on road and homecoming, add a broken down SMU team after that hard USM game and whola...it becomes clear we will have 7-5'ish season this year
