You know, it isn't about numbers; it's about loudness. I'd put any Mustang Band up against 32 tubas any day. I must admit, tho', I haven't heard the LSU Tiger band.

Mission, TX....also the birthplace of the GREATEST football coach ever of the Dallas Cowboys, Tom Landry! The high school football stadium is named for him. When Tom was fired by that Arkansas hillbilly, I quit being a Cowboys fan.

Mentioning Arkansas Hillbillies reminds me of how much I miss the Pig People visiting the big city. Ah, the good old days of the SWC.
As for the bands #'s Diamond Girl needs to go recruit from the World's Largest Marching Band or whatever Allen calls their band. They have a whole field of kids out there. Don't think they are all that great anymore (they use to be state finalists regularly in the 80's and 90s) but they do have some serious numbers.

I miss the Pig People, too. Going to Fayetteville/Little Rock and seeing them call out the Hogs is one of those college experiences that no one would believe unless they saw it. Kind of like going to Aggieland.

Nor being the small representation of SMU at those games giving it back to 'em. (Standing __hole to ___hole against 70K hawgs or aggies).
Offline: Would any M Band alums contact me directly. I'd like to put a real name to the screen name. -Jerry

The Allen band, hah. They think they're superior because they're huge, and everything about them is shock factor. Not to mention they're classless- they played as loud as they could (quite loud when they're 600 strong) every time we were about to snap the ball in the 4th quarter. It wasn't enough, we won, 24-17. That win never gets old for me.
Note that if any of you are from Allen, don't take it personally, I'm sure a few of you are decent.

I will back the Allen Eagle Football team being that I was an Eagle. As for the annoying band, they can kiss my a**. Maybe I should let old hatreds die being that it has been 18 years, but I like to think that I am consistent and not hard headed.
As for the band playing when the other team is about to snap and even during plays it pisses me off as a fan at the games. I complain to anyone around me how classless that is and I can't imagine why the other team is not looking for a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty every time it happens.
Not that I am totally anti-band. I do love the Mustang Band. I wish Allen could play a little swing as opposed to just loud.

Hmmm, they play loud and have an attitude? Sounds like ultimate feeder program, lol. I don't think we have had any band members from Allen in recent years, so maybe I should get out there and sell it to them.
From high on the hilltop, in Big D...

As one great singer once said "it ain't the meat, its the motion". While size is important, style and performance still mean a whole lot more. Go Mustangs. I'll cheer you guys on at the Inaugural Parade in January.

Amen, Eaststang! You understand what I'm saying. Size doesn't matter; it's what one does with it that does.
