Offered But Unsigned 2012 Prospects

Postby panhandle_pony » Thu Feb 09, 2012 4:23 pm

There are about 7, according to Scout, offered (by us and others) but unsigned prospects that have not committed to any school. Do these prospects have grade issues, are they still trying to determine what school is best for them; or, is the list incorrect? Any thoughts ?

By "signable" I assume this relates to grades; or, are there other issues that pertain to signable. Not trying to be cute, but don't understand the lingo.

I would think it could be many things. Grades of course. Maybe lack of desire to play anymore. Maybe not getting an offer from where they want to attend and plan to walk on or just go there and be a student. Could be waiting to see where girl friend is going to college. I just meant if they were eligible and wanted to play D1 football I think they would have signed by now.

3 of my relatives signed at their schools for football, basketball and baseball.

1 of the guys, who plays volleyball, still hasn't signed anywhere yet because he still has interviews at Ivy schools. He has 12 options about where he may go from the West coast to the East coast.

So maybe some have something like interviews going on too. ????

Glenn Checks is going to Air Force-they really don't sign Letters of Intent-they have to get appoointed
Dennis Smith has had a rocky road with several well publicized behavior issues

In addition to the grade issues outlined above, there are people who just haven't made up their mind where they want to go. Since normal college students haven't entirely learned what schools they got into, it is very likely some of them are waiting to learn about admissions for themselves and others.
1) As noted above, serious girlfriend wants to go to college at the same school or a nearby school. The guy could wait to see where she gets in.
2) All my friends went to A&M. While SMU was my first choice, A&M offered me a full scholarship and I seriously considered it.
3) Ivy League: people do get in off the wait list. My sister was planning to go to ND when she got into Princeton off the wait list. While she ultimately decided to go to ND, she didn't accept until after her graduation.
