No, they are Division I-FBS (formerly Division I-A). It's the same division as Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Oklahoma, SMU, TCU, Baylor, etc.
Your act is up, Glick / John McK.
Re: Big East
Hoops is losing at least three strong programs WVU, Pitt, and Syracuse. In order to placate the hoops side of the ledger and seeing how we suck at hoops and seeing how the TV contract is heavily slanted toward the hoops side, the BE rightfully decided to amp up its hoops as well. Certainly SMU and UH weren't doing that as we both stink as in reek right now. So, Memphis and Temple help in that area. Adding further strength to the PA market (Temple is a state school) to help offset the loss of Pitt and WVU was probably part of the thinking regarding Temple. Memphis just adds hoops strength that's all really. The Liberty Bowl might be helpful.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Wrong, when they joined the Atlantic 10 its was FCS not FBS so at the time they got kicked out for sucking then Temple joined basically a Div II conference jackwagon.

They were an all-sports member of the A-10 while they were a football member of the Big East. When they were expelled from the Big East, they joined the MAC. They have never been a football member of the A10, Glick/John McK

I never said you are Bickle. I am saying you are Glick / John McK
Re: Big East
Who's Glick / John McK
Re: Big East
Look, BB/Glick/Mck or whoever, you asked a question, and people have given you the answer. If you don't like the reason those schools are coming in, nobody's necessarily disagreeing with you, they're just telling you why. Quit acting 'gay' and get over it.
Re: Big East
Yes people have responsed to my question but the no body has been able to clarify the exact reason why the BE added two spare schools. I've heard its cause of basketball or TV markets or the history that the schools had, nobody has given me a clear defined answer. So stop being so gay when I asked for an anwser, not opinions. Where are all of the posters that actually know something about sports.

Re: Big East
Glick,
Memphis was added because of tv market, basketball, and corporate sponsorship.
Temple was added because of tv market, basketball, and recent football success (similar to that of SMU).
Those are clearly defined answers. So stop getting your panties in a wad over the fact that Memphis and Temple were invited and your beloved UNT is still in the Sun Belt. Enjoy Tony Mitchell

Re: Big East
It is so funny that you think I attended the trashiest school in North Texas. I graduated from two universities but my undergrad and graduate school was the same place you graduated from. You're reaching but have fun with that.
Wrote that on my blackberry and now I'm back on my laptop. Is that better for you sweetheart? Also, unfortunately I didn't go to graduate school for an English major

With such a strong resume one might think you would have more answers than questions
