Well if the coaching staff isn't going to bother to recruit, looks like the alumni are going to have to do it for him.

Judging from the extensive coaching and recruiting experiences of many of the posters with collegiate coaching experience, I suppose the best scenario - at this juncture - is to go ahead and turn recruiting (and hiring of coaches) over to the alumni. I'm sure many have a championship on their resume from coaching pre-K soccer at the gazebo field. Just remember when you're hiring: no friends, no lazies, no oldies, no whities, no Methodists... etc. and everybody will be happy.

Last time we did that we won big but we got in a little trouble. LOL.
But we do have the ability to do that and be quite successful at it until caught.

Why dont we just Alternate - 4 great yrs followed by 2 yrs probation, rinse, repeat.
It would be worth it.

Oline played a perfect game under Suan's guidance for the bowl game since Klemm is awful at actual coaching. Hopefully Palcic will continue the positive momentum.

Who knows if he can or not, he hasn't even tried to recruit in years.

I guess I missed that part of his story. Why didn't he recruit at UCLA?
Sports, and all that implies.

Re: Palcic Named Offensive Line Coach
Guess I have to disagree with the conventional wisdom. This is a great hire. This guy has some proven run-offensive line play. Wisconsin has had strong running with great teams for years. He has extensive experience coaching lines with the R&S offense against more complex defenses than the college level.
We have the most inexperienced Offensive line starting next year in many a season. We need a great offensive line coach now to develop a line in one preseason camp.
We need a coach that can upgrade our lines play while developing a significant number of non starters. I think the best offensive line coach possible is the pressing issue, not a recruiter. Don’t get me wrong, recruiting is essential to improvement. But recruiting will not protect our QB next season and recruiting will not open holes for Line.

Great Post Ponyte, you bring out the wisdom of hiring a proven coach and our good fortune even though he isn't on Facebook..

Re: Palcic Named Offensive Line Coach
I will jump in on the side of those who think it is important for next year's team that we have a guy who can coach this YOUNG group as a unit
if we don't win and start putting butts in the seats at Ford, it's going to be tough for any coach to recruit at the next level
