I'm sort of surprised he hasn't been fired yet. "All out"
Great responses. I think Baylor returns 15 starters from last year. Our OL returns some good players but both tackles are new which will be a challenge. Our WRs may be the best in the nation as a group. Our RBs may be our second strongest position. QB? I like Florence but his arm isn't that strong and he has a low release. Still, like Jones, Briles will put points on the board.
Defense - we are a couple years away defensively but unlike a lot of SMU fans PB seems to be well thought of. Honestly, we had so little talent last year on defense. Our MLB ran a 4.8/4.9. Our DBs were decimated with injuries. Our weakness on defense - 2 new LBs and 2 new DTs.
Gilbert will be interesting to watch. SMU has good receivers and Line is a stud. If the SMU OL gives Gilbert time it could be a long day for Baylor. SMU has had some good defenses the last few years but I will be surprised if Baylor doesn't score 30+ because of our WRs and RBs.
I will be there. It will be a close game for sure.
I think in the in the end what will decide the game will be SMU's OL play. If SMU can control the line of scrimmage and develop a running attack while keeping the rush off of Gilbert and giving LIne some holes SMU has a good chance of winning. On Baylor's side, we lost 2 DTs but our returning 2 DTs played more than the starters last year. Our depth is a HUGE issue here with RSF and Freshman backing them up.

Margus strikes me as a run D guy more than a pass rusher at this point. Yeah he got 3 sacks vs Pitt, but Pitt set a record for most sacks allowed in a season. Other than that he has only 1 sack vs each of Rice 2010, UAB 2010, and UH 2009. Dude isn't going to be the terror Thompson was in pass rush.

I don't know. Margus changes and improves seemingly every game. I really do think he takes an extra step forward this year, a new level.
Check who squared off against Margus in the Pitt game. Margus treated him like a freshman. Don't get him mad, he will be the best DE Baylor sees all year. He is also a local cult hero in Dallas!

Margus whipped Pitt but let's be honest about who Pitt was last year- a team that set THE record for most sacks allowed. Pitt was an ok team with a solid D but their pass pro was all-time bad.

As good as Margus was in that game he was a virtual non-factor in many others. If his production ever catches up to his measurables he'll be a monster but that may not happen until he gets to NFL.
