As for your comments on buying respectability, when you pay a coach over 2 mil, you should expect to be competitive. One would certainly expect not to be blown out by non top twenty five teams.

If you look back to when Jones went to Hawaii from the NFL and San Diego, taking one of the lowest paying jobs in the country at the time, puts in perspective his priorities and indicates to me his value of money placing it below his personal callings.

If you only expect to be competitive for two million then you maybe you should cough up five million and shoot for a BCS buster?

I would imagine that Jones probably appreciated the money recognition but he still wears the same old sweatshirt and black shirt.
