I thought SMU's PA announcer was outstanding and look forward to going to 1-2 more games this year.

Yes, they lost. No one in that stadium was more thrilled than I was. Hell of a game.

But they lost in a first class facility. Fantastic game presentation. Place was full (I realize it was Homecoming). First non-SMU game at TCU I had ever been to. They put on a terrific show.

I could not help but contrast with our game just three days ago.

We're more than a decade behind them, assuming we can reach that level at all.

I know I'm going to catch grief, but I came away terribly impressed.

Still thought the fans were obnoxious, though.
I was at the TCU/TT game too and it was awesome. I'm jealous and sad we are so far behind.
That was a true college football game experience. The place was 45,000 full and LOUD. We have, I'm sorry to say, a long way to go. Perhaps that has to do with over a decade of their WINNING, but most importantly their administration and big time donors were committed to making it happen. They have gotten the students and the community involved. TCU IS Fort Worth's team, in regards to Dallas, we are just a marketing slogan. :(
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
