Yes, he drove the Buckeyes crazy the 2nd half. He, Rote and Johnny Champion were the real studs of the game. Doak came down from Detroit to watch that game.
Never. Gone to SMU games since 1989. Can not remember seeing us win on the road and have probably gone to a road game on average once every other year. Guess I always go to the wrong ones

I prefer to rephrase the question as to "when was the last, best road win you saw in person?"
Not counting last year's TCU game, because it is so recent, I nominate the following memorable wins:
1. SMU v. Texas, 1980 (20-6) Oh, what a game. I still have the video. 2. SMU v. Florida 1978 3. SMU v. Arkansas 1982 (Fayetteville) and for the SWC title (They had a live razorback then) 4. SMU v. Texas Tech 1982-83? We won in the last seconds and were ranked number 2 in the nation 5. SMU v. Tulane (pick a year, because we never lost to them when I was partying in the Dome) 6. SMU v. Ohio State (1978) (We tied them, does that count? Extra point try hit the upright!) 7. SMU v. Navy (1992) (Because Annapolis is worth the visit) 8. SMU v. Arkansas (1992-93??) (Little Rock) (Because the death penalty come-back team beat the Hogs)
Oh, and the SMU v. AM saber-rattling game in the early eighties...
About 25 feet from the Hillcrest track... With the boots so tall and the writing on the wall...
Last bowl game aside, I cannot remember winning a road game. In the future I will have to travel along as my bride will not travel again for an away game. So many quiet rides home.
