Not counting last year's TCU game, because it is so recent, I nominate the following memorable wins:

1. SMU v. Texas, 1980 (20-6) Oh, what a game. I still have the video.
2. SMU v. Florida 1978
3. SMU v. Arkansas 1982 (Fayetteville) and for the SWC title (They had a live razorback then)
4. SMU v. Texas Tech 1982-83? We won in the last seconds and were ranked number 2 in the nation
5. SMU v. Tulane (pick a year, because we never lost to them when I was partying in the Dome)
6. SMU v. Ohio State (1978) (We tied them, does that count? Extra point try hit the upright!)
7. SMU v. Navy (1992) (Because Annapolis is worth the visit)
8. SMU v. Arkansas (1992-93??) (Little Rock) (Because the death penalty come-back team beat the Hogs)

Oh, and the SMU v. AM saber-rattling game in the early eighties...

You didn't rank SMU 30, Texas 17 in Austin in 1982 but it should be #1.

SMU-Arkansas in 1982 was a tie in Texas Stadium, not a win in Fayetteville. The Polyester Bowl was a great win in Fayetteville, but it wasn't 1982.

Whoever said this is depressing is right.

My answer: SMU 56, TCU 21. Anyone want to guess the year?

No, SMU v. Texas in 1980 is number 1 because that was the first win against Texas in 17 years.

My memory is not perfect, and I remember the tie with Arkansas in Texas Stadium, with Ron Myer going for the tie instead of a win, but it was in Fayetteville that we beat Arkansas so perhaps that was 1981? I will have to research the date now. Eric D. ran all over the Hogs, and my brother and I were having fun...

In my lifetime there was no better game than SMU/UT 1980. The beginning of an era.

We made the trip to UTEP, and had a hell of a time strutting out of their stadium after we shut out UTEP.

In the future I will have to travel along as my bride will not travel again for an away game. So many quiet rides home.

This year, we beat Rice on the road. Book It.

Awesome...I never travel to away games with the wife. Just enjoyed a great guys trip to morgantown, west virginia!

When I have the time, I will post the videos of the SMU v. Texas 1980 game, the 1983 SMU v. Pitt game and others, if they are not already on YouTube.
