Though I missed the game because work interfered if I remember correctly it doesn't change the fact that most fans (including me in most cases) could have made the trip. A trip to Birmingham could be as cheap as 100-150 bucks for two people and no stay whereas cheapest I found and required to miss Christmas Eve and Christmas costing 1500 a person. That's why I complain because 90% to 100% could make trips to Birmingham etc. plus I made the armed forces bowl game and that was alot of fun and second or third time I've seen the stadium basically full.JasonB wrote:You didn't go to the game in Birmingham, so why are you complaining about the game being in Hawaii?

Well I did say I didn't go, so I don't think you have to think very hard there. Yes as long as you don't rent a hotel or have a gas sucking pick up truck.... Gas/food would equate to 100-150 bucks at most...Stallion wrote:yeah I don't think so. You obviously didn't go

640 miles from Dallas to Birmingham.......so it's a little tough for most to go there and back in a day.SMU_Alumni11 wrote:Though I missed the game because work interfered if I remember correctly it doesn't change the fact that most fans (including me in most cases) could have made the trip. Just saying that unless you have actually traveled to a bowl, a couple of away games, and are committed enough to be a Mustang Club member, keep the complaining to a minimum, because obviously the location of the bowl game really doesn't impact you.
It's like complaining about the results of an election that you didn't vote in.

By that measure we all could have gone to Hawaii. I just chose to save my money, but could have gone. As much as you complain, there is no reason for not taking off from work on a Saturday to attend the BBVA Compass Bowl.SMU_Alumni11 wrote:Though I missed the game because work interfered if I remember correctly it doesn't change the fact that most fans (including me in most cases) could have made the trip.
