I do expect more - SMU holds itself out to be a top-notch, nationally competitive university in all that it does. IPF should have been constructed years ago. All sports can use it. If SMU wants to take the football program to the next level then an IPF needs to be built. TCU wants one - they get it the next year. But SMU has to plan for 10 years to get one. TCU wants to put a nationally competitive football team on the field then they do it and don't make excuses - hence, Rose Bowl and Big 12. SMU talks about what needs to be done but then takes 10 years to implement only half of what is required and then brags about the progress it has made compared to what it used to be. Let's go folks - quit making excuses.

Its in the works - i think rebuilding half our campus takes money and time, so we will get to the IPF when this phase is paid for. If you want to speed it up feel free to write a check.

The bairds site was never going to work for the IPF - it needs to basically be adjacent to the stadium to work right - and that means the soccer field.

oh, and 75% is the pre-fund rule. The Nat seems to be stuck around 40%.

SMU is in Dallas and TCU is in Fort Worth. Land is harder to come by in Dallas! Billy Joe, why don't you fund the IPF yourself?

I don't think we're really losing any games because we don't have an IPF. It can hurt is in recruiting, and in conference realignment. For those two things, we really don't need to know sh*t, and I really don't care if we the peons are being "misled" by the school. I care that:

Hart has confirmation it will be built.
June has confirmation it will be built.
Every BCS conference can be guaranteed that it will be built.
Maybe 15-20 donors can be guaranteed that it will be built.
Every recruit June tells that it will be built.

Beyond that, sorry if I just can't get all uppity over public reassurances that it'll be built in the future while a growing urban campus undergoing massive infrastructure change and enhancement in a landlocked area in an exceedingly wealthy part of Texas tries to make due with extremely limited space.

No way! Swimming has a rich tradition at SMU and needs to be improved, not ignored. Those swimmers and divers and coaches do an amazing job, considering the kiddie pool they have. Borrow from (or just spend from) the endowment and get an IPF, pool and track built and get a more legit soccer stadium now.

Agreed on the swimming program. It's a crown jewel of SMU sports history.

June can have his IPF when his players demonstrate they can play actual games in inclemement conditions -- wind, rain, cold, heat. Until then, I think they should practice in those conditions they might actually have to play in.

Edited: Oh, I forgot. Sun in their eyes.

FWiTW....having to relocate Westcott Field to the east side of Central, and rebuild will take donations...hmmm, who was the captain of the SMU Soccer Team in the 90's, and most probably is a member of the CoC, and a member of The SMU Board of Trustees? Baseball.....there is a SMU Board Trustee, who's father was a college baseball player, an oil executive/magnet, and formed a foundation with his wife, which is suppose to benefit primarily Dallas and Houston. This Trustee's father has a baseball stadium named for him on a university campus in Lawrence, Kansas. He and his wife split their time between Dallas and Houston. I'm sure they would be very proud to have another stadium named after the father or family close to Central Expressway. Just say'n
Smustatesman aka NUKE......I procreate and I vote.
