The overall talent level and depth isn't what it should be at this point (another discussion), and I like the change.
If we keep backing into bowl games we will never upgrade coaches. We need a strong season to fail to enable success later.

TBD. They split 8 million 12 ways from CBSCS and their tier 3 network "the Mtn" has been killed off for about a year now so it's old rights will be sold off differently going forward.

My understanding of the deal that brought Boise back:

1- So you can be sure the 8 mil will pay each 888k or so

2- They will sell BSU's home rights seperately. If a school gets a game on ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, NBC, CBS etc they will get an appearance fee of:

500k for a Saturday game on those networks
300k for another day
Money from BSU's games AFTER those stipends will be split evenly.

3- They talked their tv partner into letting them sell some additional inventory. This will likely be split evenly.

So it's up in the air but I doubt the non-Boise teams will clear 2mm.

Probably something near their old 1.2mm per team figure when TCU was there.

I dislike this option. It is dispiriting and assumes a better outcome, as a result, without any assurance things will get better. It is similar to letting your party lose at the polls to teach "someone?" a lesson. As a result, the country (SMU fans) suffers.

The goal is for the athletes is to win every game. They only have four years to play. Why sacrifice one or two intentionally?

I like it or not, that is how the sane fan thinks. SMU can't afford to be ubber-fan exclusionary with its fans.

These figures are depressing, but it's our best hope right now. Still more $ than the MWC, and exposure in the Big East= more eyeballs= more $. Half of America is asleep in the second half of most MWC games now.
