Scratch that, sorry. I was thinking of four FBS games, not neccesarily BCS. Fewer of those.

We are playing arguably the best team in the country at their place and we decided to downgrade another game to allow for one, i say again, one game next year not against a BCS opponent. This board is chock full of muppets.
Muppets?? really? Your argument would hold water if we had beaten any BCS teams in the JJ era other than Washington St, Worst team in D1, and Pitt. Not only have we lost to the others, we were blown out by all of them. After we lose to A&M, Tech and TCU by 2 TDs, please have an excuse ready.
My argument has nothing to do with what BCS teams we have beaten or lost to.

Instead of giving us a refund I think Rick should have given the ticket holders the option to accept a refund. Many of us (I hope most of who are on this board) buy season tickets to support SMU regardless of who we play and I buy season tickets so we can put more money in the program and improve.

As much as I would have liked to have played Baylor at home and dropped the Ags away game I think the 4 game OOC schedule we had would have been a recipe for a really bad year.

I am now on board with taking down T-Tech and those hillbilly's from Lubbock on opening weekend. Go 'Stangs!

Why pick a school from Montana? Plenty of less competitive options a lot closer to home...were they the only school that could work with the scheduling constraints??? Makes no sense.

I haven't looked at 2013 schedules (which aren't complete), but at least one school played four BCS non-conference games in 2012. Syracuse played Northwestern, USC, Minnesota and Missouri.

I guess we couldn't schedule Grambling. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Conseding you cannot compete is unfathomable.
