If I'm coaching SMU, I'm telling my guys to go for the ball when JM scrambles. He keeps the ball out there with one hand - it screams for a strip (probably a better chance to strip the ball than tackling that guy) . . . turnovers could be the only thing that keeps us competitive in the game . . .

I think we did that last year...which is why Manziel's SMU highlights featured prominently in his Heisman highlight reel.

Right, because we were the only team he did that to.

The highlight reels I saw just showed us once when we had him locked up and he squirted away and threw a TD. There were about 5 plays against Missouri and 2 against AL (Top 12 plays).

You're right; don't directly tackle him, just try to strip the football, with our down-field tackling, he won't have a field-day with us. How about this plan, spread the line laterally and don't let him run.
