Haha that's the truth. I have to say, playing devils advocate, that it must be hard being the SMU president. You do have a big vocal side, that particularly lies with the dedman school side, that doesn't want us being a P5 school. They want us to focus strictly on academics and not have a budget even with our little one to exist. Unfortunately the 25 years of not committing to football has really given the opportunity for the anti football side to plant its roots at SMU. If we want change, we have to hope the BoD are replaced with people who want to see SMU football great again. Then in turn with get us a president who wants to think along those lines to eventually get the football department what it needs to get to P5 status.
Another thing is rather than marketing why not try to put funding into grassroots movements like Red and Blue army and such. I just don't see putting ads around Dallas like "SMU is.." is going to do anything. I say fund people who are committed to SMU who will go out on the streets knocking on doors and wanting to setup events to promote athletics. I think a grassroots movement is really the best way to get fans in the stands cause the status quo doesn't appear to be working. Just an opinion.
