Re: Was there a bright side today? That this wasn't the only team that lost for SMU today.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Was there a bright side today?SMU beat Houston in volleyball. Does that qualify? We don't have to mention what happened in the Bahamas
Re: Was there a bright side today?Prescott Line ran pretty well.
Re: Was there a bright side today?a lot of people got to leave early so they could get to our bball game in corpus.
Re: Was there a bright side today?
I think it was just a couple of us, but yeah that was a bright spot. Even Rich P only missed a few minutes of the bball game.
Re: Was there a bright side today?smusic 00- the 'lot of people' was meant to only include those in attendance at the game. Not meant to imply that there were a lot of SMU fans there.
![]() BTW- thanks for making the trip to Corpus and supporting our team.. disappointing we didn't come out on top but sounds like we played well. Wish our fball team played as competitively.
Re: Was there a bright side today?I blame June Jones. His coaching and recruiting haven't been good--let alone great. We need change soon. This will be Hart's biggest test.
If we want to blame RGT and the administration, I can only be upset with the lack of applications SMU receives and the overall perception of the university. Everyone in Dallas/North Texas should want to go to SMU. We should dominate all other universities in terms of who applies from that region, which we don't. We don't even dominate the D.I.S.D. If all the students in DISD wanted to attend SMU, it would be easier to recruit better athletes from DISD because all of their friends would already be excited about attending the university. We may not be able to get 5 stars athletes right away, but at least players with other offers from D1 schools. Some of y'all will say that we recruit applicants that can attend SMU. Well the majority of schools don't, including most of the top 20 schools in the country. Having students that apply that may not qualify decreases your acceptance rate, boosts your US News & World Reports rankings, and will eventually make your school more prestigious. If the administration made more inroads with Dallas/North Texas, I think that would help recruiting and SMU's rankings.
Re: Was there a bright side today?I'd bet the number of DISD kids that have the grades and financial resources to get into SMU by paying or scholarship might be 10-15%
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Was there a bright side today? Our defense had two interception and didn't play too bad, considering how much time they spent on the field. If they would just stop utilizing the [deleted] 3-man pass rush.
