Don't get mugged. One of their residence halls was broken into last week, the students were held at gunpoint while their electronics were "liberated."

Floyd Casey Stadium was in a much worst area than the new stadium.

Yeah, he acts like the biggest SMU fan ever and he doesn't go to the Baylor game last year but does manage to leave our games early at Ford to go to TCU games. Why is he still here?

I left an SMU vs TEMPLE game at halftime (that I thought we were getting blown out) to go see TCU vs TEXAS...tough decision

Forgive me here, I'm a little slow. Did you just admit to snubbing SMU to go and watch the two teams that Mustang Fans hate the most? I say good day to you sir. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No, he wasn't, but he's the only one among that group who continues to stir up [Fatterson] around here claiming to be a super-duper SMU fan.

I admitted to snubbing a 4 win SMU team being blown out by 1 win Temple at home, in homecoming to go with the lady to the Texas - TCU game.

actually there are a lot of "Hey I'm Mr SMU Ambassodor" type guys and self described "die hard fans" that are going around talking about boycotting the SMU football team, refusing to give money to the athletic department and refusing to renew season tickets if June Jones isn't fired. The rationale that SMU is just another business rather than your ala mater that deserve loyalty dooms any potential chance a private school like SMU has to compete at the highest level of college athletics. We have to overacheive as fans of a small, private school even to be in the argument because guess what-it's doesn't make financial sense for SMU.

As I have a freshman daughter at Baylor this year I can give a little more insight.
Having Baylor be the only game in town is a huge point. On weekends when there is no home game, the campus empties out.
What we saw last year down there is not what they see the rest of the year. The # or % participating in the line decreases dramatically each game. This year seems to be somewhat of an exception because of their success, but she said in years past by the end of the year there were only a few hundred running.
Ken Starr. Whatever you may think of his past, he knows how to run a university. He is a constant presence on campus - and not like RGT who is looking over your shoulder to find the next big donor. He is actively involved with the students. If you notice, he leads the Baylor Line run each and every week.
New stadium will be very nice. They are also building a large pedestrian bridge over the Brazos for easy access from the campus. This is the land and $ they were using to try and get the Bush library.
