Payout is around $17M/team, I think. Doesn't UCF get half and the other half is distributed amongst the other AAC teams? By my calculations: $17M/2/9 teams= $944,444.44 for SMU. I'm sure it's not actually divided that evenly, but still not a bad pay day. We can at least buy some new uniforms with that!

Or use it as a down payment for the IPF...

When will people on this board understand the dynamic of having boosters paying for the coach?

It's not an ideal situation at all. But the fans don't get to argue about money's worth.

How common is it for a school's boosters to pay coaches salaries? Does CoC also pay for the football assistants? Do they also pay for Larry Brown?

To answer the original question, NO. JJ should wear a mask, like most bandit's during a holdup.

I think there are different groups of boosters involved but yes, LB is paid by boosters. Assistants I don't know about.

I know many public schools like Arkansas have limits they can pay their coaches so booster groups make up the difference in the agreed salary.

I would think that proceeds from conference bowl games go to the university and not the CofC.

OK, Alex, so when did you turn to the dark side?

For me, it was ASU / Klemm / Projector-gate / recruiting fall-off.

Never crazy about the Hawaii culture, but I could live with it.
