Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss made more than $1.6 million this year. His base salary for 2012 was $2 million with a $100,000 bonus per SEC win.

He just agreed to a new contract that moves his base salary to $3 million a year, as well.

aka The June Jones Minimum for quality BCS Coach in the Agent field. All new BCS Coaches who have taken their teams to a reputable bowl will get the June Jones Minimum

ok- pay jj 1.5 mil with a 50k bonus for beating A&M, Baylor, TCU and any other top 25 ranked team or former SWC team, minus 50k for each team he loses to that is ranked below 75 in Sagrin at the time he plays them, 200k for winning a BCS bowl game.
Also, 15k for each recruit he signs that has over 3 BCS offers and/or 4*, minus 15k for each recruit signed with less than one BCS offer and/or 2 stars.

Now that's what I call incentives, my friend! How people get paid determines their behavior, and maybe that is something we didn't cover when hiring June. If we give him the proper economic incentives for doing the right things and penalize him when he does wrong things, we may get the results we need!
Can somebody get this through to Hart?

His base salary in 2012 according to the Associated Press was not 2 Million.
He did get a raise at the end of the 2012 season after leading the Rebels to a Bowl.
But you are right, his base was not $1.6mil this year, it was $2mil just like June.

"January 6, 2012

"Details of the contract were released to The Associated Press in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. Freeze will earn a base salary of $1.5 million next season, but he has the opportunity to push that total to $1.9 million with a 4-4 record in the SEC"

OK, Alex, so when did you turn to the dark side?

For me, it was ASU / Klemm / Projector-gate / recruiting fall-off.

Never crazy about the Hawaii culture, but I could live with it.
It wasn't just one thing for me, just the culmination of headscratching moments and outright failures.
