Re: NYC Mustang Club Event RecapI vaguely remember my HS counselor knowing jack and sh*t, and Jack left town years ago.
Re: NYC Mustang Club Event Recap
That accurately reflects the impression that I got from Hart. It's less about the dollar amount for tutors and other support (though that's certainly a part of the equation) and more about a student's ability to benefit from the resources. It's like that old saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." There's only so much improvement that can be achieved by offering these resources. So sure, you can admit a student athlete with a subpar academic record, but if s/he can't succeed in the classroom (even with extra help), then s/he won't be able to contribute to the team anyways. If half your team can't make grades, who are you going to put on the field?

Let's say we have the ability to help 10 students (pick any number), why can't we use those resources on 4-5 star players instead of guys who are 2 star players? Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: NYC Mustang Club Event RecapBecause you would probably have to triple your resources. Just sayin'

Stanford has figured it out, and they're a wayyyyyy better school than us that competes at a much higher level. It's proven that it can be done, it's a matter of whether we want to or not. We clearly don't ![]() BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
