I don't think it was an upgrade. Probably about even. But June wants to possibly move him to linebacker.

Re: Courtland Sutton Signs With SMU
Safety and corner are very different. Banjo would have been drafted if he was 6 inches taller. This kid may not be made for safety and could be much better fitted for linebacker, but Greenbauer is not better because he is 6" shorter. He is better because of the 6" between his ears. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Courtland Sutton Signs With SMU
That was a good one indeed.
Re: Courtland Sutton Signs With SMU
No, June wants to play him at safety but said there's a chance he could grow into a linebacker if he keeps getting bigger. Derrick Odum recruited Sutton. PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Sounded a little different to me on the live stream feed. Thanks for the clarification. #HammerDown
Re: Courtland Sutton Signs With SMUOK, that's fair — maybe I misheard it. But at either the press conference or the alumni shindig in the evening (I forget which one), he said "we're going to start him out at safety." My guess is that the consideration of a future move to linebacker centers around his physical growth. He's already 6-4, so if he adds straps on another 30 or 40 pounds, they would have no choice but to move him, wouldn't they?
Either way, he looks like a really good athlete, and should be interesting to watch as he develops. PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.
