Remember I know some of you love the NFL but those tall guys are freaks-not easy to locate in college at the non-BCS level. If they don't have the speed, hips and agility they can't play in the secondary. See Parks and Randolph. Everybody always drools about the tall guys-in SMU's experience the smaller guys are better. Greenbauer is definitely better than Randolph and every SMU CB starter has been better than Parks. I'm not in love with the comparison to NFL DBs until we can recruit better players
Safety and corner are very different. Banjo would have been drafted if he was 6 inches taller. This kid may not be made for safety and could be much better fitted for linebacker, but Greenbauer is not better because he is 6" shorter. He is better because of the 6" between his ears.

OK, that's fair - maybe I misheard it. But at either the press conference or the alumni shindig in the evening (I forget which one), he said "we're going to start him out at safety." My guess is that the consideration of a future move to linebacker centers around his physical growth. He's already 6-4, so if he adds straps on another 30 or 40 pounds, they would have no choice but to move him, wouldn't they?
Either way, he looks like a really good athlete, and should be interesting to watch as he develops.
