6-2 Gates (listed twice) was a walkon. Bell is a 6-2 Center originally recruited as a DE and moved. All other Offensive Lineman are listed as 6-4 or above except one who was recruited as a Center.

Question: does anyone else think that the Stallion-Ponyboy exchange makes us look like a bunch of NERDS? So what are we, Rice? I simply don't care about average offensive line size- as long as these guys don't get pushed around and we can protect the QB and run the ball, then an O-line is good.

But Stallion is right, our running game sucked last year.

The o-line play was good. The qb's weren't running for their life. The problem in the rushing game was the rb's. Lack of quickness and overall speed hurt more than the o-line. IF Butler, Lee, are heathy, Lunday, McNeill and possibly Frazier then our rushing game will be more productive. This will in turn make for an awesome passing attack. I WANT TO DIE WHILE ASLEEP LIKE MY GRANDFATHER, NOT SCREAMING IN TERROR LIKE THE PASSENGERS IN HIS CAR.

If it was more about the RBs, then why did the team average drop from 4.3 to 2.3 from 2008-2009? I don't think it was all just the loss of James Mapps, and pulling Willis out of there. On top of that, the bigger slower guys had better output than the smaller quicker guys. Granted Lee and Lundy were true freshmen which is never a good sign, but still; don't think you can absolve the line for their role in the lack of production in the running game.

Stallion usually throws a gasket when wrong - the defensiveness jumps off the page. Our OL is basically the same height as Tulsa's - not saying they are better - but pretty close to the same height.

How about this for groundbreaking football insight - bigger OL's would be better. Thats the kind of robust content you come here for, eh??

You boys need to run along to the spelling bee or the science fair now......

I would have to say that the reason our qbs weren't running for their lives the majority of the time last year is because in JJ's system the qb gets the snap and gets the ball out quickly. Therefore, if you're not holding the ball that long you're not going to be put in the position to have to possibly run for the hills to save your a_ _.

That and Coach McKnight did a very good job with the O-Line last year.

And I am 6 foot 2 and have walked by Willis and he seemed more like 5'10-11 to me
