that's what the point spread would suggest...but that's why the coaches say "we'll show up"

UTEP was at home and about a 10.5 pt underdog

I won't be shocked. Yes, UTEP was at home but they had just been blown out at UT. SMU has played close all year.
I think the difference will be our run offense and short game.

I agree that our run offense could be the key. Time of possession is key for us and we have to hope the the coogs are a little over confident.
A couple of quick scores and we will be there at the end. Again.

Re: Chances versus Houston
my concern is that we haven't faced a QB this season that could exploit some of the weaknesses that we all thought were problems before the season. Basically, can our back 8 play well in space. So far from what we've seen they have passed the test they have faced so far and exceeded expectations. New test this week-i don't think anyone can really claim we've faced a strong passing QB unless it was the Division 1AA kid.

NCAA Passing Statistics;
The only 2 QBs we've faced that were in the Top 100 are No. 44 Patrick Pickney of ECU and No. 64. Andy Dalton of TCU. Neither inspires great fear in passing game. This week we face the No. 1 QB in Country

I agree with your comment but it only takes 1 good hit on a qb to upset the rhythm of a game.
