So who is this guy?

Post by PK »

Wants nothing to do with the likes of SMU. Well yeah...TCU has come a long way, but SMU is heading the same direction...IMHO. Yes...I know I'm biased.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Not very future-oriented thinking either especially when you want to shun Houston or SMU. Typical though.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Didn't they beat them the year before their Fiesta Bowl game in a non-BCS bowl game in San Diego? Seems to me the Fiesta Bowl was their second consecutive bowl game against Boise.

TCU has beaten Boise St twice in Bowl games-2003 and 2008

It's clear to me that this writer would be saying the same thing about SMU or Houston if the situation were different, and dismissive in similar fashion towards TCU. Very weakly positioned argument.

These Big 10 teams belittle TCU's and Boise' schedule, but quite honestly who do they play? Generally their non-conference schedule is very weak and much of the Big Ten is extremely weak--Indiana? Purdue? Minn.?, in most years Illinois, Northwestern. I realize conferences change year to year and members get stronger and weaker. But a number of these teams would have struggled and lost to teams on TCU's schedule.

By your home address, I can see that you have bought into the Big Ten's strength and reputation. I grew up nearby and used to think the same, and every year the Big Ten Champion would go to the
Rose Bowl and get their asses handed to them by the Pac (Eight)Ten champs. As a youngster, I just couldn't figure out why? Oh, I left ot that powehouse of the year...the mighty Wolverines (That was for my obnoxious brother).

I hate the big 10...but its a brutal conference made for their elements...

I repeat myself all the time, but it is very difficult to walk into any big ten stadium as a visitor...

So very true, but then again the Rose Bowl is a neutral site--in most years.
