What does June mean by the level where we are?

Post by Rebel10 »

He said that he did not need to do many home visits for the level where we are. Does that mean he is recruiting lower level easy to get athletes on purpose? If he is doing that then we will stay where "we are."

We do not need to do many home visits to achieve a fairly sh*tty lower tier, mid major conference team. He is probably correct.

Yes, that's what he means. You don't have to try hard to get players nobody else wants.

@SMU2007, we've had the following conference finishes in the last five seasons:

2009: 3rd of 12 teams
2010: 5th of 12 teams
2011: 4th of 12 teams
2012: 3rd of 12 teams
2013: 6th of 10 teams

The 2013 season in the new AAC, while technically BCS, was somewhere between mid major and P5.

That's not sh*tty lower tier in our conference. That's a team generally in the upper tier of the conference.

Good enough for me? NO. But let's be a little more realistic. June doesn't murder nuns.

So we were decent when Klemm did all of the recruiting
We're also 9th out of 10 AAC teams from 2013 and lower than ECU, Tulane, and Tulsa. Am I supposed to be happy about this?

He thinks we need to win 10 games and beat Baylor to start attracting the kids who can help us get 10 wins and beat Baylor.

Compare that with LB's philosophy on recruiting

he basically implied they we're not even trying to compete against the P5 schools, but did throw in "we do play TCU" as if to say we should try to compete against them for some kids

If he actually said that then I guess the USF coaches must not have heard that plan. They have the top class in the conference by far and did not win 10 games.

Good news is that according to June we don't need an IPF since we aren't competing against like A T M and Baylor. Our facilities are fine for the players we are trying to land.

You've got the realize what [deleted] he is throwin' down. What happened to:

"We are 1 1/2 recruiting classes from competing for a BCS Bowl"
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
