"yes these guys r very strong they will help the stangs running game recover from the loss of kincade"
Look, I respect Keylon Kinkade for being a warrior in an almost helpless situation, but now that he's gone I'm looking for a significant upgrade in our running game, not just a recovery. Kincade ...

Re: Justin Isham
Isham is having the same issues he had last season. He plays very well in short bursts. . .and then totally (and I mean totally) disappears for 5,6,7 games in a row. Fact is, Isham is talented and a great leaper, but he is not a difference making basketball player.

Re: If this job
Actually, that raises a concern I've been thinking about for awhile. If Dement's contract isn't extended (likely), then who the hell are we going to get to coach the team? No one will want to come to the coach's graveyard that's SMU. We simply don't have the resources to build up football and ...

Q
I hoped that Q's departure wouldn't be too much of a blow to this squad, but I underestimated its significance. Not only was Q a go-to guy, but his competitiveness and leadership made his teammates play better. This team has some (emphasis "some") talent, but there is a big hole. There are no real ...

Re: Friday's DMN: OC hired!; and confirms attempts to buy out OSU.
It sounds like just about everyone is getting in on this one, so here's my two cents.
Playing a series against a vastly superior OSU program that hangs 55-60 points on us every time out serves no purpose. I think the theory of "if we play big-name regional opponents our attendance problem will ...

Any idea why so many D-1A programs have backed off this guy?

Re: Army & Navy
I think UT plays Rice because Rice has a stadium that seats 70,000 people, is a patsy, and is not far from Austin. I think the size of our respective stadiums is a big reason why we can't get a home and home with either A&M or UT.

Re: 80s glory days
Someone wrote a book about SMU football in the late 1980s called "A Payroll to Meet." It is an interesting read and runs down the complete history of SMU football from the mid-1970s until the DP in 1987. You might be able to find it on Ebay or Barnes and Noble's web site.

Re: Well, I was wrong about this team...
I think Dement said it best following the game. This is a team that can lose at home to App State, and then beat Purdue on the road. Tough to figure out.
One thing I have noticed about this team is that a different player will step up every night. That's huge. In the past we had one or two guys ...

Re: Scandal brewing at Mizzou
No. No. No. Again, while I am sure that what happened at Alabama involved more than "one lone renegade booster," there was no EVIDENCE that the institution had a direct role in, or knowledge of, the violations. Does that mean the institution was not involved? I'm not saying that. What I am saying is ...

Re: Scandal brewing at Mizzou
PonyTime, I think the distinction Stallion correctly draws between the SMU case and the Alabama case is that in the SMU case it really was a matter of the University itself committing the violations. If I'm not mistaken, the Alabama case involved a renegade booster or boosters, who were not official ...

Re: Could the case be made that SMU is
Plus, football is the engine that is running the transformation of college sports. Even a traditional basketball powerhouse like the ACC is making decisions about its future based on football.
