Fuller should have been starting all along...personality conflict with receivers coach has kept in out....seems to be the case with several coaches?!?

The most recent game shook many fans, when by any measure, SMU was the better team and played well enough to win.
Believe me I shook my head and I'm still shaking it! I had 15 friends and family members at the game in NOLA. That was a game we should have won, no excuses no doubt!!! But ...

Re: Time to Get Behind This Team
fornaxqt, please let your son know that although we can't yet fill the stadium with diehard fans, the ones that do show up are exactly that, DIEHARD FANS who have supported this team for years. We support the players and want them to succeed. So fight hard and know we appreciate their effort ...

Re: Time to Get Behind This Team
The players must be depressed. They played hard and even the ones that made some major mistakes early (Lasecki) fixed it and played well. Some are injured and we are thin in the secondary (when Haness sees the field you know we're in trouble).
So NOW is the time we need to put the FANS in Ponyfans ...

Re: SMU/Tulane Predictions
With our D, I think we might have a chance to win this game if we just didn't play offense. In other words just punt on 1st down, kick field goals on 1st down after a punt return, a pick, or fumble. Then just relay on pick sixes by the D and blocked kick scores. Sounds like a improved offensive ...

Re: UTEP SMU Game
Had the O been on track and scoring a gazillion points, then we wouldn't have gotten the shutout. We would have been so far ahead that our 2nd and 3rd team D players would have been in there. They would have made learning mistakes and UTEP would make the most of it and score. So the D needs to ...

Running Backs
The end of Saturdays game showed me a lot about our other running backs. Seeker was exceptionally quick with a completely different style than Line. Wembley showed tremendous power. If JJ would utilize these guys sporatically, giving the other teams 3 different looks in the backfield to worry about ...

Re: UTEP SMU Game
We shutout a team on their field and they were favored to win. Please someone find some pleasure in this. This was a must win game and we won. Progress was made. We will be even better next week.

Re: UTEP Favored by 2
I was dead on. 17 point win.
Should've been AT LEAST twice that.
Would have been twice that if we had made the 3 field goals we missed and didn't kill the clock at the end of the game by letting every running back on the roster carry the ball. Time ran out while we were inside the 5!!!! Score ...

He struggled Saturday!
The competition will be less talented from here on out. As he get experience he will get better. Good time to get experience now as we go into the BE.
Agree...will be good for the entire team, and to gain confidence!

Re: Now That SMU Is Past All The BCS Teams We Will Be Fine
Other teams are down in talent, new coaches etc. Time to win the crown in our last year here.
So let's join them by getting rid of JJ?????
No, that is not what I am saying. I am saying because other teams have graduated talent and have new coaches we can beat them and win the conference crown ...

Re: Thoughts on June handling Gilbert
You are forgetting one important thing......This guy was the highest-rated QB in the country and the gatorade player of the year and a proven winner at Lake Travis and had been to numerous evaluation camps of which I don't think June influenced any of that did he? He just got into a bad situation ...

NOTE: I'm just playing devil's advocate...
RESPONSE: Maybe he is doing what's best for the team? Perhaps he genuinely believes in GG. More importantly, what does that say about the other QBs if he's willing to keep GG in the game? I think we're just guessing here...
