Re: It has to be done...Aggie jokes...

An Aggie Corp member graduated and couldn’t get a commission in the US Army. In fact, he couldn’t find a commission in any respectable branch of service. Desperate, he joined the French Foreign Legion. His first assignment was as commander of a French outpost deep in the Sahara desert ...

Kinda salt in our wounds. Wish I had delayed my degree by 30 or so years to look younger. What was I thinking back then?

Re: MIKE FORD: Finishing what he started

Technically, wouldn’t this help the class of '11's graduation rate? It sure would look neat if all kids graduated and we had Ford in that class and could claim a 110% graduation rate in '11.

Also, Ford was granted a redshirt following his injury in ’79. He could have been (if not ...

Former opponent, Ron Springs, passes away

Former Ohio State Opponent (and Dallas Cowboy) Ron Springs has passed away.

m

He was OSU's big back when we played OSU in Columbus in 1978. I remember him trying to whip up the 89,000+ late in the game. Mike Ford and the SMU offense put up 14 points in the fourth quarter to tie OSU. It was the ...

Re: MIKE FORD: Finishing what he started

Good job, Mike Ford!

But a couple of trivia questions please.

What QBs returned from the previous year's squad the year Ford came in, and what happened to them?

Who was (were) the other QB(s) signed the same year as Ford and what happened to them?

I don't remember, but perhaps someone can help ...

This diehard will be in his usual seats. I don't feel like I am at a game unless I am in the crowd, elements and all.

WE get to play all 3 of the CUSA teams in this top 10. This will be a good test year for the progress SMU has made.

Re: SMU Hall of Fame: who should be next?

Then add All-American John Steward (1993 placekicker) to the list.

Alvin Maxson needs to be added to the list (3 time concenus all SWC).

We need to drop non all American, non 3 time all conference guys like Putt Choate from consideration. Naturally Forest Greg cannot be on the list (even though ...

Jerry Norton, Duane Nutt, Mike Romo, Keylon Kincade (the only offense we had for two years!) Mike Ford (lead the team in team offense 3 years including the year he was benched for 6 games. Lead the US for one year against opponents like Penn State, Florida and Ohio State) Oscar Roan, John Hampton ...
