American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco has announced the addition of womenΓÇÖs lacrosse as the ConferenceΓÇÖs 22nd sport beginning in 2019.

(If it's not that, well, it should be!)

This is an ACTUAL ad on Facebook for an SMU football game in three weeks. It entices no one to come.

Perhaps they should indicate when the kickoff time will be announced (10 days in advance) as the game is listed for 12 midnight in this ad since the kickoff is still TBA ...

Winning cures all is very much a myth. We won HUGE in the 80's in the SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE and nobody came, relatively speaking. We sold out Texas Stadium -- the NFL's best stadium at the time -- only when UT or A&M was in town, for the most part.

But when the program was MEDIOCRE but marketed ...

Myth Number 1, 2 and 3: "Win and they will come."

June was 5-1, had beaten TCU and no one came. He ripped the fans. He then quit on the program. But he did get new stadium lights (even though we had no night games scheduled the rest of the season) and new mascots that no one wanted.

Nice job at the football game last night -- in fact, best I've noticed -- of promoting both men's and women's basketball. And, the next football game even! Credit where credit is due. First of all, what a great sports weekend for the Ponies -- big road win in football and two great wins for hoops -- in dominating fashion.

We had lost 12 straight season-opening games on the road, dating back to 1986 at Rice. Wow. 30 YEARS! And really only close in one them (1998 at Rice). So, consider this another small milestone for the program. It wasn't pretty at times last night, but it was a season-opener. And we are 1-0. Baby ...

Can't you people read that RGT has no interest in competing nationally in athletics? It's too much of a burden to manage success. He never once mentions anything more than being competitive in the AAC.

He has the WORST football program in America right now ...

Any plans to do a first practice celebration (aka Midnight Madness), considering the arena is sold out for the season and we will likely be in the preseason AP Top 25?

Too many excuses, not enough can-do attitude on The Hilltop. I don't demand perfection. I expect professionalism. Too much just gets blown off up there.

Music still sucks, audio crazy loud. We need the guy who runs the board at Moody to take over at Ford. Stop catering to the 50+ crowd (no offense to that crowd).
