Re: Stone
I am starting to doubt if Stone is the guy long term for this team. There is no doubt that he is a great athlete and has a great arm, but I have doubts of him running an actual offense. Far too often he is trying to play hero ball and doing his best to imitate his hero Johnny Football, which Stone ...

Re: Temple Game Thread
Everyone who is saying that Jennings has only played in mop up duty has clearly forgotten about Tulsa last year. We don't win that game without him as he completed 8/11 with a TD as Stone was hurt the entire second half.

Re: ECU Game Thread
He looks like his confidence is shaken. Clearly Rhett canΓÇÖt figure out calls to get the running game going, but Stone needs some quick pass calls where he can just sling it and not have to overthink it

Re: TCU Game Thread
Rhett desperately needs another coach on this staff that has former D-1 head coaching experience to serve as Associate Head Coach to be a helpful voice in his ear. Some of his coaching decisions (play calling in general, reckless 4th down attempts, and bad timeouts) are killing this team

Re: 1963 Remember this?
This was very cool to watch and see highlights from the famous 1963 gave against Navy. This game was before my time as I started attending games in the early 90s as a kid. I had heard many stories about this game from my grandfather because not only did he love SMU, but as a die hard Dallas Cowboy ...

Re: A bit shocking
I too have found these reactions shocking. I am not saying heΓÇÖs not at fault for some of his coaching decisions this year like last night and against UCF, but he is a first year head coach. When we hired him to be our HC most said this was a great hire. He had history here at SMU and was a highly ...

Re: Newest CBS Bowl projections
I think Bo had plenty of talent when he came to SMU. Unfortunately, I think he is a typical example of a young qb being thrown into a bad situation. That team in June's first year was terrible and I think at the time he had trouble learning the complexities of the Run N Shoot as a majority of the ...

Re: Thank you Garry Weber!!!
I agree that SMU should focus on being a top 60 athletic program. Unfortunately, I do feel that the "Super League" is starting to look inevitable. If you look at the P5 conferences the bottom half and in some cases like the PAC 12 or ACC you could make the argument that 75% of the conference doesn't ...

Re: Unis
I hate the black unis. I wish they would take them out back and burn them. I have also noticed that we have been wearing every color uniform possible for home games except white this year. White needs to be our main home with a red out or blue out once a year.

Re: ItΓÇÖs done.
For those wondering how long we will remain a stepping stone job, it will stay this way as long as we are a G5 program, which unfortunately I donΓÇÖt see that changing anytime soon. Rarely do you see many coaches especially young coaches wanting to stay at the G5 level. I think Rhett is going to do ...

Re: SMU Head Coach Candidates
The writing was on the wall the second we missed out on the Big XII invite and Bowlsby further confirmed by basically saying there are others schools that would get an invite before us. Last week when asked by the Musers on the Ticket said that when he took the job his goal was to get us to the Big ...

Re: Aresco Says AAC Will Expand
I am not a fan of the expansion. I think UTSA has some promise and Rice offers Houston and we they are an old conference rival, but the rest is really disappointing. I was only 7 when we made the move to the WAC so the idea of conference realignment meant nothing to me at the time, but I have a ...

Re: PAC 12 Will Not Expand
It goes without saying that yes the Big XII would be my first choice mainly to have a shot at TCU and Baylor. If the AAC was poached schools like UCF, Cincy, and Memphis and we were on the outside looking I wouldn't hate the idea of trying to get into the MWC. Although the product on the field was ...
