Re: 2014 US News Rankings released
From a discussion with an admissions officer, from the new metrics US News uses, what caused us to drop a bit was the peer review from University presidents, which is one of the most contentious parts of the process. Wait till next year's results come in, this current incoming class was a step above ...

Re: SAT Smack
My kid is at TAGTownview, 94+ avg at #1 ranked HS in country ( but just in the top half of class rank of the 61 kids) and until two, three years ago never even thought there would be any problems getting in, but we had to take the SAT a second time to get over the 1300 threshold. Everyone in ...

Re: Football Jerseys
This thread settles my game day attire this year, the #23 white game worn Adidas jersey I bought last year at the Adidas close out sale at Ford. I will do my best to squeeze into that! Unfortunately it is as tight as sausage casing and the shoulder pad area looks like a puffy wedding dress when worn.

Re: From the director of the Mustang Band
So the director of the band feels obligated to snuff some of the negative BS that appears on this forum and he gets a trashy response? What gives with some of you? Don's explanation is pretty straitforward and consistent with the exigencies of the bowl trip

Re: Daily Campus on Marketing Dallas' Team
Responding to the notion that SMU hasn't done any outreach beyond the park cities is ridiculous. In the Meadows School of the Arts, there has been an office and programs specifically designed for community outreach and diversity, there has been programs on site specifically targeting hispanic ...

Re: Has Rick Hart Started?
He responded to an e-mail of mine after the game, so obviously he was working late (and in a good mood after the great win over Utah!)

Re: The lesson of Hayden Fry at SMU
I have heard that after Fry, Dave Smith was the choice over Bum Phillips because Smith was more "polished." I hated it when I was 12 years old that Fry was gone, then we get a guy who made our uniforms look like Ohio State.

The SMU Triathlon team had 3 guys finish in the top 10 of the collegiate division at the US Open Toyota Triathlon this weekend.

Re: SMU Lacrosse et al
One of the girls on the track team was in the office this morning and said that the move to the Big East meant:
1. Varsity Lacrosse
2. Men's track and field
3. Baseball...
I wonder how much of that will come top pass?

Re: ASU Pulls Offer
We have a staff member who came from ASU last year. Hiring freezes, salary reductions, back stabbing to save jobs, serious morale issues. The buy out would have caused an insurrection, so ASU continues its recent history of being a poisonous environment that can't get out of it's own way. June ...

Re: Interesting Tweet - SMU - B12
During the Big 12 debacle last year, I sent Rep. Dan Branch a message (as a constituent) to not let SMU get screwed in the realignment mess and he jumped right on it, only to have everything settle down a few days later. Good to know he was willing to jump in for SMU. Waiting to see what happens ...

Re: Any Dallas Media Love?
The unusual situation of a possible ALCS win for the Rangers has taken over all the media's attention. TCU to the SWC.2 fills in the space between showing Nellie Cruz' GW GS again.

SMU Cycling finishes 19th in Nation in D2 Road
Two SMU students competed this past weekend at USA Cycling's Collegiate Road Championships in Madison Wisconsin. Nicky Boulle and Frank Cusimano were able to secure enough points to get in that top 20 ranking despite qualifying just these two elite riders.

Re: SMU Needs to Recruit the "Lost Generation"
Rowdy Section! Hell yes. Vuvazellas, Chants, Cow bells, all of it. When I started going to Dallas Burn games we always sat with the Inferno, great times. I bring my teen kids to SMU games (soccer and football) and they are always the loudest in the stands and they complain about all the quiet people ...
