Re: Can I get a cellphone signal?
From experience, it doesn't take a big crowd to affect cell phone service at Ford. It's not just a one-time deal.

Re: Why bother with the Mustang Band Hall?
Agree, the Rice Band is completely overrated and not a good reflection of the school.
We just need a bigger band, and we need to let them play more often. You still need to mix in some current tunes over the PA to get the youngsters going, but the band is critical to the overall game experience.

The MC, or in-game hostess or whatever, was TERRIBLE. Total Amateur Hour.
She read from a cue card (sloooowly), which is ridiculous for such brief live spots that are supposed to be fun and spontaneous. And she never took off her oversized Ray-Bans. With all the eager broadcast students and all the ...

Re: How was SMU AD so off?
All teams that had a shot may have had a watch party, but all of them didn't invite fans and try to turn it into an arena-sized media event. Many of the so-called watch parties were the teams by themselves in a small room.
When they announced the watch party, there was still a chance we could blow ...

Re: Shipp Investigation
"lawyer up" "Hire a PI" "play dirty" with Shipp? What for? All he's done is report the results of a DISD investigation. The guy goes after the likes of John Wiley Price. He doesn't scare easily and there's no need to even think along those lines.
Shipp doesn't need to pay anyone off because DISD ...

Re: Unacceptable Seating for Band in New Moody
Geez, how much closer does the band have to be?
So they're not actually on the floor. Big deal. They're in the coveted lower bowl, and they occupy a section from top to bottom.
And 35 seats is plenty in a small arena like Moody. When more than that shows up, it's too loud. Yes, I said it. TOO ...

Re: Spirit squad in stands
I have no problem with it, either. It's something different.
My problem is the blah uniforms our pom-pom squad wore.
Black pants and white tank tops. About as un-flashy and generic as you can get. It looks small-time and way too conservative.
Even Baylor's dance team dresses flashier than ours.

Re: Rick Hart is Pro BCS
You know, they said a team like Utah or Boise State would never play in a BCS bowl. Then Utah played in the 2005 Fiesta Bowl and Boise State played in the 2007 Fiesta.
Then they said BCS would never allow two non-AQs into BCS bowls at the same time. Then TCU played Boise State in the 2010 Fiesta ...

You really should put "WBB" somewhere in the subject line when referring to the women's team. Headlines can be confusing with both the men's and women's teams playing. Great win for Rhonda and the gang.

Re: Dallas' Team?
The hotel is owned by the City of Dallas and operated by Omni. They put all sorts of teams and organizations in their light show - usually associated with a big event going on in the area (and especially if it's in Dallas) or a convention they are hosting. In this case, the event is Heart of Dallas ...

Re: SMU Extends June Jones Contract
The devil is in the details, folks. Maybe I'm naive, but a three-year extension is only as good as the guarantees in the contract.

Re: SMU not hosting Texas HS Football Playoffs this year
HS coaches I've talked to said SMU basically just opens the gates to Ford and that is the extent of SMU's assistance.
It takes a lot more than that to get a team set up in an unfamiliar facility. That's what they mean by SMU being poor hosts.

Let's not screw up one of the great things about SMU to try to fix another problem. Don't mess with The Boulevard, make The Ford more appealing.

Re: HART/TURNER: PLEASE FIX OUR LISCENSING ISSUES
There is no good explanation for why you may see groupings of college merchandise that include UNT, Texas State or even UTSA alongside the typical Aggie and Longhorn gear in Dallas. Heck, I've seen Univ. of Houston stuff for sale in Dallas with no counterpart SMU stuff alongside it.
But I also see ...
