Before Sonny went to Cal I do remember a lot of people here wanting him. I will say he seems like a horrible cultural match for Cal and might be better suited here. But IΓÇÖd rather take Sumlin, Graham, Orlando, or Littrell.

The coaching carousel went on for a while without SMU being affected. In the last moment we lost our coach, it's an odd place to find yourself if you're an AD but I'm sure after the flirting that happened with Baylor last year with CM, our AD has had feelers out there to multiple people each year. This is SMU. There is no fan support and not much support from the school for football, IMO. The school is betting on basketball. The football coaching world knows this
If Dykes is the guy so be I­t­. Be grateful there is a small group of supporters that are willing to fork over 2-3 million a year just to pay for the coaches.
