Re: Thoughts on the game

Also looked like Navy's team speed was better than ours.

Re: Thoughts on the game

How many rushing yards did Navy have in their loss to Air Force this year?

Re: Hey Chad Read Your TexAgs.com

Here's a question. If Morris goes to Baylor, with an aTm clause, how does he convince top recruits to go to Baylor when everyone knows he's gone as soon as aTm opens (which may be in a year or two)?

Re: Baylor site has a free breakdown on SMU

This may be one of the more telling observations made...

One concept SMU used a lot last year was Sucker. This concept uses a pivot route by an inside receiver to draw the underneath coverage away from a dig route by the outside receiver. This can be run with a third receiver drawing coverage ...

Re: OFFICIAL GAME 1 THREAD: SMU vs. NTSU

Davis was being Davis. Hicks looked much more comfortable in the pocket passing than Davis. I was not impressed with the OL. There was no push on runs. Runs were for 1 or 2 yards, with an occasional 40+ yard run. Pass protection seemed OK.

Re: DMN: Matt Davis finds out how fleeting job security can

Liked the part about people moving around positions. I know that Deon, Jr. was probably trying to avoid the comparisons to his father, a pretty good NFL cornerback, by playing wideout. But with his speed and with some fatherly advice, he could very well be a great cover corner, kind of like Darrell ...

Re: 55% of the roster HCCM inherited had no FBS offers

There are reasons most of these guys didn't have many/any offers. These kids were all good high school players, but coaches have to project how each player will perform at the next level. What I've seen, other than the general size and speed disadvantage, is that they are not as instinctive as the ...

Re: Defensive Coordinator Van Malone

This has been beaten to death here, but we really have mostly FCS talent playing FBS schools. Many of our players are not as big, not as strong, not as fast and not as quick as the players they play against. We play over our heads in the first half, but just get worn down as the game goes on. We ...

Re: SMU to face another mobile quarterback

I know he is as far as the DE contain. They are consistently being out flanked. The one time I saw one remain outside, he closed so late and at a bad angle the runner turned inside and ran free. And then there was no LB filling. They need some work and discipline.

Watching some of the replays is ...

Re: JMU was also faster than SMU

After watching the replay, he played the receiver like he thought the safety had coverage over the top. Regardless, it was a mental mistake not physical. I don't remember seeing him limping around. I know one of the coaches talked to him when he got back to the sideline.

Re: JMU was also faster than SMU

Showed when their wideout beat our guy on a streak for a td in the third quarter. Beat him by five yards

Our guy gave up on the play. It wasn't a speed issue. Their offensive coaches out-coached our defensive coaches. But even if the coaching was even, our defense is not talented enough to stop a ...

Re: Horribly coached game.

Almost appeared that we were guessing. Stop them for 1 or 2 yards on one play and then we didn't even touch them until into the secondary on others. Agree, very inconsistent.

Number 33 for JMU was all over the field making plays (Tank Reed style). Our LBs were MIA much of the time.
