Re: 4 Horsemen Uniforms

When "four horsemen" is mentioned people of a certain age think of Grantland Rice and Notre Dame so sounds more like a knockoff except with SMU it's about the uniform.

Re: CBS: Gundy: UT network a 'failure,' elimination key to B

I think he is on to something. LHN might be a money-maker for UT at this time but the 24 hour exposure is very bad for some of the sports, especially football. Can you imagine the time Charlie Strong has to spend doing interviews and being micro-analyzed instead of putting the majority of his focus ...

Re: The Sixth Man of the Year is SMUBasketball's Markus Kenn

Congratulations. That SMU team is fun to watch and such an unselfish bunch. Reminds me of the good old days when players actually cared and came out every game playing hard. Will miss watching these seniors.

Re: Dieter to Bama!

Phillips arrival was the beginning of the end for JJ. Such a poor communicator and motivator. His reputation was only exceeded by JJ's as an offensive genius.....both were legendary in their own minds only. Anyone remember Dieter as the only receiver who could get open and catch in his first game as ...

Re: Been a while since SMU got a player from Cedar Hill

Need to get these local kids to stay in town so their friends and family can come to the boulevard, party, watch em play and then party again. It must become all-inclusive and welcoming though. Ole Miss of the southwest?

Re: HCCM On *Commitment*

It is just a bad system with the player holding little power once he signs the letter of intent other than trying to graduate as fast as possible so he can transfer wo sittng out a year....so can't blame a kid for decommitting. If Notre Dame offered the head coaching job to Morris next week and 5 ...

Everyone recruits speed at every level. Also size, work ethic, background, desire/goals, coachability and to a lesser extent academics.

I guess this is the message this Christian school wishes to send....Big 12 Champs baby, that's all that matters. I hoped for better from Baylor, SMU and TCU.

Re: Why committed recruits should keep open minds!

Anything any coach tells a recruit should be taken with a "grain of salt". They are selling something and we know how that works. Bottom line is most guys should pick a university where they will want to attend, even if they don't play a sport, and what is best for their intended degree. That is why ...

How about setting a precedent and just being honest with people so you don't have to consult attorneys on what to say? And recruiting kids who are student/athletes and have made the grades in high school and testing and have a chance with support to get a degree from a prestigious institution of ...

Re: Boykin being very TCU

This free speech stuff and protecting these heckling cowards at bars and sporting events needs to go. We see it at sporting events especially where these punks know they can use the worst language imagineable and they are allowed to do it and add a pint of whiskey and it is worse. Hecklers and those ...

Re: Deion not happy with Chad

shouldn't knock the kid. Deon is like any other mom,dad or grandparent, except what he says gets a lot more pub. Parents almost always see their kids through the "rose-colored" glasses no matter what level whether it is sports or any activity, so no need to get offended and hold it against a kid for ...

terrible while he was at SMU. Just when you didn't think KU could sink any lower. I bet he led the KU coaches to believe he had a recruiting pipeline from Houston. Did he recruit any good receivers to SMU?

Re: Coach Tree of High School Coach a Decade Ago Grows to 4

What this post also shows is that you don't even have to be a successful Texas high school coach to be successful at the college level. How many state championships for Graham in high school? Briles had 4 and Morris had a few too so that is understandable. Other than that it used to be the only way ...
