SO SAD THAT I MUST WAIT FOR HAWAIIAN RADIO TO ....

It's pretty darn sad that Dallas sports radio talks more about local bands than the new SMU hire. I'm having to wait until 3pm Honolulu time to listen to their ESPN station in order to hear more about this hire. Broadcast starts at 7pm central. The Ticket and 103.3 TCUFM suk.

Im glad you were wrong JT. I was first to suggest it could be Jones or Graham but thought realistically that Jones was out of the question. Dreams do come true. Wow!

If I remember correctly, wasn't stallion pro JJ assuming they made some model changes?

No. He said JJ recruited under a polynesian model that wouldn't work at SMU. He was basically against it and didn't think JJ would come here. It's obvious. He has been almost non existent except for posting ...

Re: The Official "I Told You So" Thread

ASSuming this pans out, let's start a thread dedicated to noting the first time you lent credence to the idea that Jones could be coming to SMU. This will save us from the multiple "I told you so" threads, while still allowing us to harken back to the days of yesteryear when June Jones was a ...

Re: Shula/Ross Connection

someone actually brought up an interesting point on mustangmaniacs.com. Randy Ross was recruiting coordinator at Alabama when Mike Shula was there. Hmm

If they wanted him they could have approached him weeks ago. He is available but I don't think Orsini wants a coach who is unemployed. I think ...

im glad we want somebody "who wants to be here"...that's the giant obstacle stevie o is facing right now

The problem is we obviously(for reasons beyond me) dont want some of the big names who are open to the job here at SMU. For example, Mason, Bowden, Bower, Neuheisel, etc. I just don't get it ...

The reason he shouldn't come here is there are better coaches for the money.

I am shocked that Orsini hasn't at least talked to Bowden. I have lost all faith in Orsini. I can't beleive we are blowing a golden opportunity to get a first class coach (Bowden) THAT WANTS TO BE AT SMU! I'm sick to my stomach. What a nightmare.

The worst part about the whole loss of Johnson ...

Re: According to ESPN...

there are three names for the job being "kicked around" .... apparently we are still talking to Bowden, hopefully something positive like his hiring will come of that.

Bowden will probably end up here. Fran. has as much or more baggage including walking out of the press conference. Davie is ...

and what you don't seem to understand is that none of these Coaches we keep talking about may be interested in SMU or Turner has no interest in them. There are plenty of great coordinators who have made great head coaches. Only uninformed posters would even suggest otherwise. I can go right down ...

I realize it would take a huge financial commitment to get Gray-but heck at some point if we are going to complain about the lack of minority coaches we've got to have some minorities take some jobs. I'm kinda of intriqued with Jerry Gray. Certainly better than Chan Gailey. I'm going to pretend he ...

Orsini made a play, he has nothing to be embarrassed about. Its a business, nobody will say SMU is a better job than Tech. I have no understanding for those that are hurt by losing Johnson. Man Up
