Chris Phillips is a bad QB
If you're with me, please respond to this post. Come on, we saw Chris Phillips try to throw a football. He's terrible. Why do all of these people posting think that he's so great? Justin Willis probably 100 times better.

Say "NO!" to Phillips
Phillips can't even throw the ball. Let's be honest, Justin Willis is the QB of the future.

Memories from last year's TCU game...
Three memories stand out in my mind:
1. TCU RBs outrunning McCray. McCray was just a little freshman back then.
2. Donald Massey actually getting playing time (he was a true frosh and had the same # as a starter).
3. The SMU band playing for about 30 minutes straight while SMU was gettting blown ...

Alamodome/Independence Bowl
Remember the days when the Ponies played home games in San Antonio and Shreveport? SMU might be the only university that played home games four hours away.
I'm surprised that Copeland didn't try to work out a deal with Southlake Carroll to share their stadium.

My prediction for Saturday
My thoughts at the beginning of the season for SMU's first two games: SMU would lose one very close game and get blown out in the other game. So the Ponies already lost their close game...
1997 Team
The DMN seemed to have a somewhat positive view of SMU's talent this year. Here's a good question, how does this team match up at each position when compared to the 1997 team (which obviously had a lot of talent).
QB -- 1997 team was probably better with Ramon and Sanders
RB -- 1997 team with ...

Phil's first recruiting class...
Anyone able to put together each one of Phil's recruiting classes and then elaborate on what each player is doing now? (i.e., Humphry starts at safety, John Doe got a girl pregnant and dropped out of school.) I'd be very curious to see what each player is doing now.

I don't have season tickets but I want tickets to the A&M game. They told me today that they should have some for me on August 1st. Anyone believe that?

Season is almost here...
It's almost August. I remember the past eight Augusts how I would sit around getting fired up about SMU football. I'd read the message boards and Web sites to analyze the upcoming prospects for the season.
I'd always get fired up -- there was always reason for hope. There was that new QB from ...
